If you still have fresh tomatoes leftover from the summer harvest or are looking for a quick side dish or chutney for your meal, Mum's Classic Tomato Chutney is the way to go! This cooked chutney is tangy, bright, salty, spicy with just a hint of sweetness. It really is the best and comes together really quickly. You can serve this for any curry night really or make this for a guest or just have it as a chutney at snack time! I personally love to eat this with dhal and rice. So simple but so satisfying. Yum!

This recipe is very easy and quick. I have written it for fresh tomatoes but you can use a can of diced tomatoes too. My suggestion would be to use fresh tomatoes that are picked in season as those will have the best taste. See full recipe below for the details. This very delicious chutney can be served with any number of vegetarian or meat or seafood dishes! Make it today or impress a guest!
